Call your doctor if you experience double pigeon.
This is why I like carrying around a camera with optical zoom. Good luck spotting the hawk in the third photo.
I confused the #iNaturalist identification #ai with some random snapshots from a trip up into the mountains a few years back.
Normally it’s pretty good at narrowing things down to a family or genus. In this case, I was aiming for scenery and family snapshots at the time, so they weren’t exactly ideal for plant IDs even cropped.
It’s on the level of “A flock of sheep on a hill” for an empty landscape. I wanted to ask it how many giraffes were in the picture!
I’m looking for more #PokemonGo in-game friends. I send raid invites (and occasionally pick them up when I catch them in time!), and I send and open gifts. If you’re interested, my trainer code is 2658 1380 0806 and I play as Magikarpaccino. Thanks!
This Say’s Phoebe, unlike the squirrel, was kind (or unconcerned) enough to stay put while I walked around it to get both a better angle and better light. #birds #nature #SaysPhoebe
Today’s #WTF moment: A Cruel Angel’s Thesis played on an #otamatone. With animation to match.
I saw two hawks circling off in the distance to the northeast, then they chased a few crows toward and past me. Sadly I couldn’t catch a picture as they passed above. But a few minutes later I saw these two hawks – probably the same ones – circling in the distance to the southwest. I’ve seen both Red-Tailed Hawks and Cooper’s Hawks in the area, but I think these look more like red-tailed hawks.
This squirrel kept pausing just long enough for me to aim the camera, then darting off.
Mixed Seasons. Just cold enough for *some* of the trees to drop their leaves, while others keep on drinking up the sunlight. #trees #autumn #NotWinter #afternoon #park
“Left at front door” 5 minutes ago. (looks outside front door.) Um…WHOSE front door?
We checked with the neighbors & walked around the block looking for boxes in front of doors. No sign. Now we need to wait & see if the driver marked it as delivered by mistake, or if it’s actually been misdirected.
Best case, it’s just delayed & was marked wrong, or it was delivered nearby and whoever got it brings it over.
Worst case, we should be able to get Target to send a replacement. But we’ve got to wait a couple of days first, and the kid is not good at waiting. Not to mention the replacement would be getting shipped *over* Christmas.
Package arrived. Barely an hour past the supposed delivery timestamp. Kid is gleefully opening it now. Wife figures the driver probably clocked their late deliveries early so they wouldn’t get in trouble for claiming actual overtime š
OK! Eventually I’ll familiarize myself enough with Alpine Linux and set up a manual #nextcloud instance I can fine-tune, but for now, the snap package on Ubuntu made it super-easy to migrate it to a Linode.
Useful thread:
Migrate a Nextcloud Snap installation
Either the kid’s friend made a Sledge Hammer reference or the game they’re playing on Roblox includes one.
Maybe Square/Block can add another dimension and call themselves Hypercube.
Emphasis on hype.
In a move that should surprise no one, H&R Block is suing Block (formerly Square) for trademark infringement.

Weird jet-black deep-sea “#footballfish” washes ashore.
LA Times (paywall):
Ultra-rare, bizarre fish that washed ashore near San Diego is Californiaās third this year
Birdsite:
Rare findā¼ļø A Pacific #footballfish, one of the largest species of #anglerfish, washed ashore near Encinitas last Friday. Lifeguards notified scientists about the unique #deepsea creature, and Scripps scientist Ben @Frable was able to collect it for research and preservation.

Seriously thinking about putting the keyboard on the gaming computer (the one the kid uses most often) through the diskwasher
*dishwasher.
But i kinda like the typo.
A very camera-shy #BlackPhoebe. This was the clearest view I managed to get.
Kid’s friend: “Ew, my sandwich has eyeballs in it.”
Kid: “Same.”
Picking up Indian food from a local place. Big sign at the counter saying “Experience the NAAN-COMA”
