Spring at the local botanic gardens. Cherry blossoms, an artfully arranged “living wall” of plants, an aloe with its flower stalk, and some poppies.

A specialty furniture store that almost went out of business last year, but managed to stick around.

By mid-afternoon, the patches on Mt. Wilson (barely visible at the left) had faded, though the ridge behind it still has a ton of snow visible.

A sundog, looking like a ball of rainbow. The sun was shining through clouds, too hazy to make out the disc, but apparently had a clear path to some ice crystals at just the right angle.
Polliwog Park doubles as a flood control basin, and after 5 days of rain, it’s filling up. Those two arcs out in the water? They’re benches like the one at the lower left.
It’s not the fullest I’ve seen it, though. A few years ago, it filled up to the top of the swing sets. Photos here:
Smoke from two wildfires in and near Los Angeles this morning. The gigantic Woolsey fire causing evacuations in Ventura County, and a smaller fire in Griffith Park. In at least one photo you can see a layer smoke from the smaller fire drifting past the rising plume of the bigger one.

Surprisingly simple #brain #cupcakes suitable for #Halloween or any sort of #zombie event. The hardest part is actually getting the icing the right color.
