Does anyone actually start off email to friends with “Dear Friend”?

Why do some people feel the need to make $#!7 up to enhance political messages? Don’t they know it undermines their position when exposed?

Just turned off our oldest internet-facing server. I’m not 100% sure, but I think it went back to 2001 – almost as old as IE6!
