Had to do a double-take when looking at the updated website control panel to realize they just had an unfortunately placed line break in the list.

Anyway, I’m relieved at the result of the election, though in a sane country it wouldn’t have been as close as it was. Trump started his term taking a sledgehammer to the walls and when the house caught fire, he cheerfully tossed gas on it figuring he’d look better by firelight. I’ll happily take someone who’ll at least try to put the fire out, even if his repair plans aren’t perfect.

JFC there are still people who think there’s “no difference” between the two major parties? Have you fucking been paying any attention for the past 4 years????

Election maps typically show land. But land doesn’t vote. People vote. Whether they’re spread out over a lot of land or concentrated in a city.
And if land did vote, I suspect it wouldn’t be voting for the party that’s consistently rolled back environmental protections.

I love how I’ve seen opinion pieces titled both
“The election has actually been the most normal thing about 2020”
and
“Stop pretending anything about this election is normal”

Finding myself focusing on covid news/stats to keep myself from focusing on election news/stats because it’s less stressful. wtf, brain?
I’d like to think we can all agree on this, at least.

Covid measures metaphor
Covid measures metaphor: Think of each measure (masks, distance, limiting crowds, ventilation, etc.) as a slice of Swiss cheese. Sure, there are holes in each slice, but you stack them together and they cover each other’s gaps.

Also, a nice visual display of how coronavirus spreads in indoor scenarios and how different actions reduce the risk.

A Metro train in Rotterdam overshot the end of its track, but caught on a giant whale tail sculpture instead of falling 30 feet to the ground. No passengers were onboard, and the driver escaped unharmed. Now they have to figure out how to get the train down safely.
The sculpture, incidentally, is called “Saved by the Whale’s Tale.”
