Hummingbirds (HB, silhouetted in tree)
There were a zillion of these tiny hummingbirds darting around in the trees, pausing just long enough for me to focus and then zooming away before I could snap an actual photo. This is the only one I actually caught in frame!

American Coot
Normally I only see one or two coots here, along with more ducks and geese. Maybe I was just looking at the wrong end of the pond.

Geese at the amphitheatre.
This city park has a pond which attracts ducks, coots, seagulls, and as near as I can tell a permanent flock of Canada Geese that wander around the banks of the pond and the open space at the south end, where these terraces are located.
Let’s just say I don’t think I’d want to sit on the ground in that part of the park.

Mitred Parakeets:
I stopped to grab coffee and heard the parakeets squawking in the trees. These were the first two I spotted, and they stayed together like that for the whole time I was there.
Mitred Parakeet
I’m not sure how many were in the hollow at the top of this palm tree. It might have just been the two.
Mitred Parakeet
Another one in the same tree as the first two that I spotted.

Some birds I saw on a hike today
Some #birds I saw on a hike today:
- One of several Black Phoebes I saw around the grounds of the park
- A California Towhee that had just chased another bird away from this puddle.
- One of the clearest views I’ve had of a hummingbird away from a feeder.
- Possibly a goldfinch? There were a bunch of them in the same bush.
