This is serious coffee.
The menu’s small and the hours are short, but they make up for it in quality. Their signature drink, the Flat White, is not to be missed. The mocha I had was the absolute perfect balance of coffee and chocolate (most places are too heavy one way or the other), with just enough sweetness and no more.
Which reminds me: a couple of nights ago, I dreamed I was Rand, inspecting a military camp and learning that the Dark One’s touch had destroyed all the coffee. ALL the coffee. And I/Rand immediately decided, “That’s it! We’re ending this NOW! Last Battle, here we come!”
Woo-Hoo! After Starbucks bought the old Diedrich chain and ran it into the ground, the original is back!
There’s 2 locations: one in Newport Beach at Westcliff & Irvine, the other just opened in Tustin where the old Diedrich was on Newport and Main. keancoffee.com
