Meanwhile, in the more curated parts of the gardens…

(The sphere in the distance is a sculpture by Doris Sung called “Fuller,” inspired by Buckminster Fuller. I always think of it as the buckyball.)

Nighttime fountain at the Anaheim Convention Center (full)

Nighttime fountain at the Anaheim Convention Center. This was a popular spot for cosplay photos even after sunset, but I managed to catch an angle that looked deserted.

My full gallery of photos from WonderCon is up on Flickr. Most of them are just cosplay snapshots. This ended up being the only artistic shot I took that came out really well.

Two night shots from after WonderCon

Two #night shots from after #WonderCon. The lower image is a #fountain outside the #Anaheim Convention Center. The upper is a corridor of the well maintained but nearly #empty Anaheim Garden Walk mall. The anchor restaurants at the front look like they’re doing fine, but behind them, the mall is barely occupied.

Palace of Fine Arts

Palace of Fine Arts: Dome and Fountain

The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, originally built in 1915 for the Panama-Pacific Exposition, as seen on a November afternoon. This place would fit in perfectly in a Maxfield Parrish painting, and I was pleasantly surprised when we left the museum that evening to see a Maxfield Parrish sky behind it.
