Under the Pier.
Odd: Google Photos actually increased saturation on this. Half the time the auto-awesome (or whatever they’re calling it these days) takes a photo with bright, interesting colors and makes it a dull black and white (it hardly ever picks the shots that actually look good in B&W).
We had a rare summer thunderstorm today.
Yoda turned out to be a poor spokesbeing for National Grammar Day.
Sometimes you just need to take a break from the office and walk outside to recharge.
Not-so-short term parking.
Photo of last night’s closest approach between Jupiter and Venus. Jupiter is bright, but as you can see here, Venus is a lot brighter.
Edit: Apparently tonight is the closet approach. I could swear I’d read that it was Monday. Looks like I’ll be taking another photo tonight.
Spent the day running around doing last-minute Christmas shopping, but I did manage to take a break around lunchtime to just relax.
Yeah, that would explain the CLANG CLANG CLANG sound. It’s supposed to be a computer, not a trolley.
Brion comments on FB: all aboard the broken power supply train!
Wayne comments on Google+: yeah, ouch, fare’s not worth it. 😉
New moon and Venus.
They’re finally replacing the broken window in my old 11th-floor office. (It’s been held together with duct tape for months.) I’m still in the same suite, so the air pressure just started pulling a serious breeze from the vent in my ceiling.
I should really go grab lunch…
Why, yes, that was thunder I heard. Good thing the window replacement is done.
Storm, smog and sky above LAX. I’ve seen one lightning bolt and heard a few thunderclaps. The darker clouds are bunched up over Palos Verdes.
