Archiving my Twitter, Facebook and other social network activity
Realized that my tinkering with #GoToSocial, #Takahe, #CalcKey and #Snac2, continuing to use #Pixelfed, #Lemmy and #Bookwyrm, and looking for compatibility problems are part of the same impulse that had me trying out every web browser I could find in the early 2000s and deliberately using Firefox and Opera on Linux as my daily drivers instead of IE on Windows.
It's a drop in the ocean, but it's my push for interoperability over #monoculture.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure my #Pixelfed (similar to #Instagram) photos aren’t shilling malware. But Twitter won’t let the links through anymore citing “safety.”

I mostly post nature, architecture & landscape stuff there, and just randomly interesting stuff. You can follow Pixelfed accounts through Mastodon or Pleroma too. I’m at @KelsonV
No one has brought the wine glass in since yesterday, making it a bit of an informal rain gauge (and giving me a chance to frame a better photo).
@KelsonV Weird, it looks like the image description on #Pixelfed doesn’t show up on Mastodon.
In this case I think the description can be inferred from the caption (a wine glass on on outdoor table, coated with raindrops). In general, though, it looks like a bug.
One thing I’m looking forward to as more types of networks join the Fediverse: boosting across networks instead of cross-posting!
It seems more natural to post a photo to a #Pixelfed instance & boost it here than to post the same photo & caption in both places.
First post at #pixelfed. Very basic so far, but it works. Looking forward to seeing how it shapes up!
