Smoke plume from a wildfire burning northeast of Los Angeles. It hasn’t had time to diffuse through the whole basin yet, and the wind has cleared out all the smog, so the sky to the west is a gorgeous blue and the distant mountains and skyline are completely clear.
Last Friday I went out to the beach to watch the sun set into the smoke layer from the Springs Fire and other wildfires burning near Los Angeles. More photos from this evening on Flickr.
The sun sets into the smoke plume from the wildfires burning near Los Angeles. In the first shot, the smell of smoke mingles with the more usual smell of jet fuel near LAX. In the rest, I’ve moved onto Dockweiler Beach nearby. See also the Flickr Photoset.
