Looks like it’s already #wildfire season again. Maybe somewhere out near Silverado Canyon or Lake Elsinore? That smoke plume is roughtin the direction of Saddleback when it’s visible from here. #socal
[A few days later:] Or maybe not. I haven’t found anything else, so maybe it was closer than it looked and/or put out quickly.
Smoke plume from a wildfire burning northeast of Los Angeles. It hasn’t had time to diffuse through the whole basin yet, and the wind has cleared out all the smog, so the sky to the west is a gorgeous blue and the distant mountains and skyline are completely clear.
The sun sets into the smoke plume from the wildfires burning near Los Angeles. In the first shot, the smell of smoke mingles with the more usual smell of jet fuel near LAX. In the rest, I’ve moved onto Dockweiler Beach nearby. See also the Flickr Photoset.
