Found the always-open-in-apps setting on Firefox for Android & thought, hey, that might be useful.

But now it wants to open links with tracking parameters in Nextcloud, which of course is saying, hey, I don’t know how to open that!

Dug into the phone settings & Nextcloud says it can handle “*” – presumably because you can point it to any Nextcloud server you want. I wonder if there’s a way to limit it to the ones you’ve actually configured?

Anyway, turned off the setting for now.

Hmm, I wonder if there’s an Android-compatible Firefox add-on that strips out tracking parameters…

Argh, forgot that Firefox had limited the Android version to a dozen “recommended” add-ons. I mean they include things like ublock origin & privacy badger (and apparently there’s a privacy possum add on as well!), There’s just not much selection.

Just realized that for the past hour I’ve been wearing the new glasses that I’ve been meaning to take back to get adjusted. They’re actually perfect for laptop & handheld reading.

It’s just that my desktop setup is the wrong distance for them. I guess I can either move the monitor or just keep using the old glasses there.

Anyone know what the dots in the upper right and lower middle of the Pixel 5 camera square are? The upper middle is the flash, and the two sides are the regular and wide-angle lenses. In guessing the upper right is the microphone for shooting video with the rear camera, and the lower middle is a light sensor, but they’re not identified on the reference page I found.

Oh great, another thing to be anxious about on the will-my-ballot-make-it-to-the-county list.

“Ballot box fire in Baldwin Park may be arson, officials say “

Though TBH I was already worried about this sort of thing. I just hate that it’s gone from hypothetical to having happened at least once.

Replying to @InvaderXan’s remarks about the Star Wars sequel trilogy being a missed opportunity to tell a story about stopping the resurgence of fascism.

Same here. When TFA first hit, I was disappointed that it was just rehashing a previous generation’s battles…but then as 2016 went on, I said, “Oh, I get it…”

Then TLJ told a nuanced story about having to work hard to preserve hope against overwhelming odds & with fractured alliances.

And then RoS was all about how none of this would’ve happened without space Hitler getting reincarnated, and we’ll all be fine once he’s gone.

Ugh, yes! It’s like starting up my coffee maker in the morning and having it ask me if I’d like to order an iced tea.

No I don’t want iced tea right now, that’s why I’m starting up the coffee maker!

There’s a cloud-based music player that I keep getting mad at because we have different ideas of what it’s for. To me, it’s a way of listening to music I’ve already chosen. To the publisher, it’s a way for them to sell me additional subscriptions.
