A Western #Bluebird spotted last week.
Images
I pulled over because there was a whole…duckload of mallards just grazing their way down the street along the grass.
Context: I was driving past a park that has a pond with a year-round population of ducks and geese and attracts other waterfowl. Usually near the pond.
This isn’t. It’s at the edge of the park. I pulled over because there was a whole…duckload of mallards just grazing their way down the street along the grass.
Hawthorn flowers. In this area they start blooming in winter and keep going thrown spring.

Well, that’s a #finch of a different color! A lesser #goldfinch and a #housefinch are both visiting the #birdfeeder.

Squirrel!
Thought I’d try a black-and-white edit of the sunbeams in the park. I kinda like it!

There’s a former railroad route to the coast that’s been converted into a greenbelt and walking path lined with trees. Some parts (not these) specifically focus on native California plants. Others open into grassy parks.

Silhouetted Finches
And for kicks, I converted the silhouetted #finches and tree to a stark black and white image. I kinda like it.
Goldfinches in sunlight, house finches in silhouette.
Goldfinches in sunlight, house finches in silhouette. And there were a bunch of each, just at opposite ends of the park. (I suspect the glob of leaves next to the goldfinches is hiding a nest.)
Two sparrows and a warbler spotted the other day.
I seem to have caught the second sparrow in the act of scratching its head.
Jacaranda canopy
#Jacaranda canopy, first #LookingUp and then from the side. In the same park as the previous shot. #trees #green #nature

Blinking Squirrel
I took so many photos of this #squirrel trying to get a good shot yesterday that I caught it blinking.
