Pink flowers on the lawn.

Jacaranda flowers at sunset.
This #dragonfly was just resting on the asphalt in the parking area out back. It was very still — I was surprised it didn’t take off when I took the picture — but it moved one of its legs at one point as if wiping its face, so it was apparently alive.
Every time I’ve tried to reserve at the Torrance Benihana, it’s been booked several days ahead. (But not other locations in the LA area, oddly enough.) Alas, the kiddo was not impressed with teppan. Except the onion volcano. #torrance #benihana #restaurant #backlit

That one clump of puffy orange cloud just looked so out of place.

Canada geese at the marsh. Remarkably unconcerned with an unpredictable human child 15 feet away, but then they *are* geese.

Seasonal wetlands at Madrona Marsh. Winter and spring rains fill up these shallow pools, which become home to birds, frogs, insects and more during spring and summer. By the end of summer, the pools dry up until the next year.
Coastal scene on a bench.
Lone jacaranda flower.
Clover flowers, late afternoon.
They are one of my favorite trees, though apparently there are people who absolutely hate them. From what I can tell it comes down to whether you have to deal with cleanup, because the flowers can get really sticky and messy after they fall, and there’s always a lot of them.
There’s a residential street near where I used to live that’s completely lined with jacarandas for most of a block. I loved driving or walking along there in April. I wouldn’t want to park there, though!
