Your Gmail account is fair game for cops or feds, says US judge
Disturbing, but not as scary as the headline makes it sound, for two reasons: 1. A warrant is required. 2. The judge offered an explanation of his reasoning, comparing access to an email account to access to the contents of a hard drive, which courts have ruled can be seized or copied for later analysis…such as figuring out which documents are relevant and which aren't.
