@lookbeavers Ah, randomized rewards! One of the things that always sticks in my mind about Robert J Sawyer’s Neanderthal Parallax trilogy is that he decided the modern Neanderthal brain wouldn’t respond to that, and would instead be wired to prefer consistent rewards. That makes a big difference in their society, the way they interpret scientific data, etc.
