Snac2 reminds me of an old Web 1.0 guestbook…

Snac2 reminds me of an old Web 1.0 guestbook (minus the garish backgrounds and colors) — except it’s actually talking with the Fediverse!

It’s enough to write text posts, and follow and reply to people on Mastodon servers. There’s a section for logged-in users, and simple pages for public posts. And that’s about it. Bare bones, low resources, doesn’t require JavaScript or (as far as I can tell) cookies.

Image attachments should work, but I think my config is missing something. I’ll have to dig into that when I have time.

Initial testing seems to have trouble interacting with other software like Pixelfed, GoToSocial, Calckey etc. Which honestly isn’t that big a surprise. Mastodon is the equivalent of IE6 back in the early 2000s: It’s what everyone’s going to be testing against.
