Cherry blossoms are coming in at the local botanic gardens. They have a grove with multiple different cherry trees in various stages of waking up for spring (some with a few flowers, some with more flowers and leaves, some still bare), and a few scattered trees elsewhere in the garden – some of which are already covered. But the tree in the fourth shot isn’t even in full bloom yet!

Saw this sign today outside a local…bar? Lounge works, I guess.
Sort of “I like less than half of you more than you deserve, and more than half of you..” wait, I got that wrong, didn’t I?
First LED bulb to burn out. It wasn’t completely off like an incandescent or flickering like a fluorescent bulb, but it was just very dim. The crack is weird.
Note: Consensus was likely heat damage, possibly from a power surge.
One! Singular sensation!
A zillion starlings were moving back and forth between the greenbelt and an electrical transmission tower.
Sunset over the ocean. In the zoomed shot, just moments after sunset, you can see the silhouette of Santa Barbara Island. There’s a park up in the hills that also has a clear view of the ocean, where you can see the more distant San Nicolas Island next to it. But down here near sea level, it’s below the horizon.

Picked out the best shots of the #PointVicente bluffs. I got there mid-afternoon & took some photos of the #cove with the historic #lighthouse (and could actually see Catalina Island in the distance!)
Then I walked along the blufftop path along the nature reserve for a while, before turning back to reach the lighthouse area by sunset.

I didn’t see much in the way of wildlife at the park this morning, but I found this squirrel on the garage roof when I got home. The neighbors’ dogs were very interested in it.
Finally decided to stop postponing my dentist appointments and get it over with. They were running late so I had some time to spend outside and encountered some of their small neighbors.
HOW? This is running on the same computer. No hardware changes. It’s a modern Mac, I *can’t* make any hardware changes. I don’t think I’ve even *rebooted* the machine since I last ran this VM.
Wait, there was an OS update last week. Did I last run this VM early in the week or later in the week?
I have no idea, because time has no meaning anymore.
But yeah, maybe it was early in the week and the latest point release reports something slightly differently to VMWare.
Interesting idea: an “I made a mistake” button on social media to let people retract a bad take so that it stops spreading, those who saw it will see the follow-up, & people are a bit more willing to admit an error to start with
