Ugh. So many idiots commenting on that Flickr story who DIDN’T READ IT. The guy HAD backups of his photos, but NOT THE ACCOUNT STRUCTURE. He could have re-uploaded all 4000 photos…but all the old links would be broken, all the tags would be missing, titles, descriptions, etc. All that stuff required either a backup *at* Flickr or a Flickr-provided method of retrieving the structure.

It’s easy enough to only buy the parts [of Flashpoint] that look interesting. If that means all of them, fine. If that means none of them, it’s really easy. If that means somewhere in between, cool.
I’m really annoyed when politicians oppose (or approve) policy based solely on *who* proposed it, not the idea itself.
Sadly, that means that most political news makes me really annoyed.
I always wonder about politicians who claim to be opposed to government.
California having the highest air pollution is why we’re so above the curve on pollution standards. Chewable air is a good motivator to do something about it.
Ugh. 2 hours on the road. No parking at the train station…or at the next train station. And traffic of doom. On the plus side, I got a parking space at work where I can actually open my car door! It's the little things…

As it happens, I agree that “App Store” shouldn’t be trademarked, but it’s funny that #Microsoft is the one complaining.

App store for a computer? Great! As long as it never becomes the ONLY way to install software, like on the iPhone & iPad. #Apple
The app store model has been available in major Linux distributions for years, but you can always add third-party software.
GUIs for Linux’s APT & Yum are basically app stores for free software. Linspire had an actual app store back in 2002 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CNR_(software)

Short version: Vaccinces DON’T cause autism. Studies have shown time and time again that there is no link, and the one that touched off the whole anti-vaccination movement has been determined to be outright fraud.
Funny how many “problems” with Android vs. iPhone were also “advantages” for Windows over Mac. Diverse hardware, multiple app sources, etc.

For future reference: Jerry’s Dogs puts a bucket of peanuts at each table. It would’ve been nice to know this BEFORE I ordered lunch. I’m glad I’m not so allergic that just being in the room would send me to the ER. Eating outside, but to be safe I’m not coming back.
I’m enjoying it [The Flash] a lot. I really wasn’t expecting to – I’m a Wally West fan myself, so Barry Allen’s return felt forced and unnecessary. Yes, the series was broken post-Infinite Crisis, but in the words of another Geoff Johns story, just because something’s broken doesn’t mean you throw it away.
Worse, Flash: Rebirth really annoyed me on a lot of levels. I was at the point where I figured if the new series was going to be like Rebirth, I wasn’t interested in reading it. Fortunately I gave it a chance, and was pleasantly surprised by a fun adventure story with great art.
Responding to a thread about which long-running comics you’ve stopped reading.
After they defeated the Adversary, I completely lost interest in Fables. I tried to keep going. I think I read another four issues or so, about to the point where someone released the Sealed Evil In A Can, and kept buying them for a few months after that. Once I realized I wasn’t reading it anymore, I dropped it entirely.
One nice thing about The Nightmare Before Christmas is that it’s good for anytime from October through December!
