Twilight at the circular offices. There are four of these round buildings arranged in an arc around a central, taller building that's out of view. The rock gardens and drought-tolerant planters used to be lawn and fountains until they redid the landscaping a couple of years ago.

A fall evening in Monterey between storms. This is near Custom House Plaza, along a section of Alvarado Street that’s been closed to cars and made into a pedestrian-only street. Just behind where I was standing, a temporary ice skating rink has opened for the season.

A few scenic shots taken around the Long Beach Convention Center during Long Beach Comic Con over the past weekend.
The first is a new walkway that connects the main entrance to the convention center with a theater around the far side.
The second is a building lit up by the sunset reflecting off a building behind me.
The third is a mural on the side of the convention center *under* the theater.

My first attempt to spot Comet Pan-Starrs on Monday evening didn’t work out, but I got to look back at the coast from the end of the pier, which was nice. You can see the Palos Verdes hills/peninsula in the background to the right.
