Heed the #signs

Had a conversation this morning on the importance of not shaming people for learning new things that they “should have known already.” It reminded me of this XKCD from a few years back.
Federal building for sale. Seems like there’s a metaphor in there somewhere…
Historic house turned museum and dry fountain in a California Beach town.
I guess I should say old house turned historical museum. The house itself isn’t particularly historic.
Magnolia
Snap crackled “Stop”
New #IVoted stickers in today’s CA primary election.
Bottlebrush #trees don’t produce air roots, do they? I’m guessing this is some sort of plant parasite.
Phone pic of a Corona around the moon, and Jupiter. Not great, but better than I expected.
I see there’s no editing capability (at least for now). I was going to add #nightsky after a line break, but it seems to be all one line. And now I want to fix the capitalization of corona. I’s not the city or the beer, it’s an optical phenomenon.
Some sort of purple flowers on the unmaintained greenbelt beneath a set of transmission lines. A lot of it is more of a brown belt this time of year, but I think this section gets water seeping over from neighboring yards.
Spring colors
Cherry blossoms at the South Coast Botanic Garden. The whole park is curated, with some parts arranged to seem wild(ish) and others, like this one, more garden-like.
Murals in progress on what used to be the featureless gray walls of an apartment complex. The aviation theme on two of them is due to this being Aviation Blvd.
Composition brought to you by the angle I could take a photo out the car window before the light turned green. 😁
Update: I drove by it again, and this time stopped to look. There’s a signature: on the last section: Jacque Dupuy 2018, Mural Executed by LeviPonce.com
On a similar note, my wife spotted someone dressed as a cosplay mashup of Tamatoa with Ziggy Stardust at WonderCon last week: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kelsonv/41140053401/
Flashback to last summer: a red panda (sometimes called a fire fox) at the San Diego Zoo. I made a point to look for them and the penguins on that trip. For reasons. 😉

Sadly I didn’t get to see them doing much. There were several in the enclosure, maybe three or four, but the rest were either hiding in the tree or sleeping. This one was just sort of perched up there, looking around.
